कमल दह (Kamal Daha, East Rukum)

यो पूर्वी रुकुमको सदरमुकाम स्थित कमल दह हो । कमलको फूल प्राकृतिक रुपले नै फुल्ने दह भएकोले यो दहको नाम कमल रहेको किवदन्ती रहेकोछ । स्थानीयहरुले यो दहको कमल अचार र तरकारी बनाई खाने गर्दछन् । यो स्थान मध्यपहाडी लोकमार्गले छोएकोछ । त्यसको ठीक माथीपट्टि ऐतिहासिक रुकुमकोट किल्लाछ । नेपालको एकीकरण अभियानमा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएको रुकुमकोट किल्ला यो दहकोे शिरानमा रहेकोछ ।

This is Kamal Daha, located in the district headquarters of Eastern Rukum. According to legend, the lake was named Kamal because lotus flowers bloom there naturally. Local people prepare pickles and vegetables from the lotus plants found in the lake and eat them.

The place is connected by the Mid-Hill Highway. Just above the lake lies the historic Rukumkot Fort. The Rukumkot Fort, which played an important role in Nepal’s unification campaign, is situated at the head of the lake.
