National Campaign for Peace Building Youth for Peace Symposium Video

In 1996, conflict broke out in Nepal. Over the next ten years, the terror of war spread throughout the country. For the youth of Nepal, childhood was stolen, innocence was lost and growing up transpired amidst a culture of violence.

While the peace agreement has brought an end to hostilities, as in any post-conflict society countless social injustices remain. Though the significant suffering endured by the people may harden hearts, this is a generation of young Nepali citizens saying to the darkness, we beg to differ.

The National Campaign for Peace Building believes creating peace is the responsibility of each and every individual. By spreading awareness, facilitating understanding and taking concrete action for positive change, the members are seeking to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in order to ensure a peaceful future for Nepal.
