Phulchoki hiking is one of the shortest hiking from Kathmandu. It is popular for flora and bird watching. It starts from Godawari and takes 3 to 4 hrs to reach at the top of Phulchoki hill (2700m from sea level). At the top of the hill, there is a shrine of Phulchowki Mai which is surrounded by prayer flags and tridents. The walking path is slight difficult and there is only one shop with very limited supplies at the top at the army camp so better take some food with you. From the top of the hill, you can see tantalizing Annapurna range to Gaurishanker mountain on a clear day. Best time to hike is September to November.
