Mrs. Ruan Wei, Wife of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Attends the Strategic Activities Planning Meeting of Nepal China Women Friendship Society in 14 February 2012.
On 10 February, 2012, Mrs. Ruan Wei, Wife of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, attended the Strategic Activities Planning Meeting of Nepal China Women Friendship Society (NCWFS). Mrs. Ruan, as well as Mrs. Purna Shova Chitrakar, Chairperson of NCWFS delivered their speeches on the meeting. And members of NCWFS, including CA members, scholars, and oversea students to China were present at the meeting.
Mrs. Ruan addressed that as time changes, Chinese and Nepali women's social status and role also make big changes. Today, both in China and Nepal, women are playing more and more active roles in all the sectors covering political, economic, social and cultural areas, whereas in the course of promoting China-Nepal friendship, women's role will also be more remarkable. NCWFS is the first women's friendship organization between our two countries. Although it just established last December and still at beginning, I can feel every member's strong will to promote China-Nepal friendship. I believe with joint efforts, we can make our good will into concrete actions.
Mrs. Ruan addressed that I think we can work together to make contributions to the long-term development of our bilateral relations. Firstly, based on the China-Nepal Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation, we can further consolidate the social foundation for our two countries to continuously enhance the friendship and expand the mutually-benefit cooperation. Secondly, since women are playing important role in people-to-people and cultural contact, women friendship organization can push the exchanges and cooperation in areas such as culture, education, and art, adding more variety to our cooperation. Chinese Embassy is willing to promote the exchanges and cooperation between women's organization of our two countries. When Premier Wen visited Nepal, China and Nepal jointly announced 2012 as "China-Nepal Year of Friendly Exchanges". We can also use this platform to organize more colorful women friendly activities.
Mrs. Chitrakar highly appreciated China's economic development and Chinese women's social status in her speech. She said that Nepal and China are friendly neighbors. In recent years, Nepal's women also make great progress. The two countries can continue to promote the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation through women's activities. She thanked Mrs. Ruan's great support to NCWFS and her valuable working suggestions. She said that NCWFS is going to organize many activities in "China-Nepal Year of Friendly Exchanges", to make Nepal and Chinese women more close.
Mrs. Ruan also had cordial interactions with the members on the topics such as Chinese women's social statues, Chinese government's assistance to Nepal, the establishment of links between the women's group of Chinese Embassy in Nepal and NCWFS, etc. She said that Chinese Embassy will continue to give fully support to NCWFS.
