Kiwi Planting methods

Kiwi plants should be planted in pits. Pits are prepared by digging the soil which should be 3ft deep and 1 m of diameter. Pits are prepared 2 months before planting and should be filled-up with soil along with 20-30kg FYM or compost (1 doko), 5 kg wood ash, 500g bone-meal, 200g carbofuran (insecticide for white grub). While filling the pits, the surface of the pit should be raised 1 ft high than the surface and plants are planted after one month. Pits are prepared in the month of Kartik-Mangsir and planted in the month of Poush- Magh (Jan-Feb).
