Other employment/income generating service areas that are created through commercial poultry are management, veterinary and pharmaceutical services.
The 1950-1951 revolution can be considered the catalytic event for commercial poultry development in Nepal. During 1951-1960, the governments also tried to design long-term visions and strategies for national development. During the First Five Year Plan, “Village Development Worker Training Center” at Shreepur and Birgunj were opened. Poultry production and management was one of the training components for the Village Development Workers (Poultry Munch, 1994)

Later on Government Hatcheries were established at Parwanipure, Kathmandu, Sunsari, Pokhara and Nepalgunj at different ecological regions and distributed the number of dual purpose chicks to districts as per demand for the local breed improvement at rural level. The establishment of the Agricultural Development Bank in 1967-68 became a millstone in this regard. Credit to poultry farming with interest subsidy was made available. . Access to credit promoted poultry farms consisting 100 to 1000 chickens became common. [http://bpkhanal3.wordpress.com/2013/06/2… ]
