Kalinchowk Bhagwati



Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple is a Hindu shrine in Dolkha District of Nepal. It is at the altitude (3790m) which is the highest around the vicinity. From this place one can get a wonderful panoramic view of Gauri Shanker mountain range. Even the lights of Kathmandu valley can be seen from this place at night. Its a part of Gaurishankar Conservation Area from where two rivers Sun Kosi and Tama Kosi river are originated.

In the north part of the Charikot, at a distance of 18 Km., there lies Kalinchowck temple at an altitude of 3842 miter. Goddess Kalinchowck is highly noted as a wishful filling goddess through out the country. The temple has its remarkable significance on the occasion of Janaipurnima, Dasai, Chaite Dasai, a huge procession takes place centered around the goddess. Kalinchowck is 6 hours’ walk uphill from Charikot. It is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus. The fascinating Klinchowck hill also offers a gorgeous view of the Himalian range, enchanting hundred green hills, beautiful settlements etc.

Below the Kalinchowk Bhagwati lies a village named Kuri. The real adventure begins once you arrive to Kuri inhabited mainly by Tamangs, Sherpas and Brahmins.. The trail to Kalinchowk from Kuri begins with the walk on the staircases for few minutes and instantly slides up along the steep rocky hill with very few trees on it.
