Bhuteshwor

The name of the temple comes from one of Shiva's names and is derived from two words: Bhuta meaning ghost and Ishwor - God. Ghosts and spirits are believed to be retinues of Lord Shiva. A small pit on the eastern side of Kasthamandap is worshipped as Bhuteshwor.
