Vishnu Temple

The temple, which (some manuscripts suggest) was built by Pratap Malla, has three roofs and is set on a four-tiered stage. On the lower level, the temple is enclosed within stone pillars. The main door lies to the north. All four sides of the second storey are decorated with “Ga-jhyal” or blind window. The struts bear carvings of deities related to the Vaishnav (Vishnu worshipping) community. Inside the temple, there is a golden idol of Vishnu sitting in meditation pose and playing his flute. Unfortunately, the flute has now been lost. #KMCB31 *[~kmcb/31.mp3]*
