A white neoclassical building known as the Gaddhi Baithak, the European style building was built as a part of the palace in the early twentieth century by Rana prime minister Chandra Shamsher during the reign of King Prithvi Bir Bikram Shah. Gaddhi Baithak was also damaged in the quake as front part of the building has fallen down and the landmark is devastated .
