Rudra Varna Mahavihar

Just a short walk from the Patan Durbar square, the Rudhavarna Mahavihara is an interesting detour. This temple has been modified with addiction in different periods, but the original old struts at right and left sides, female figurines with less decoration defines the fine architecture in Nepal.

The courtyard of the temple is a show of different skills, a milestone of styles, stones and metal work crowded with dragons, elephants, lizards and Snakes 'nagas' and complicated mythologycal creatures, mixed with deities and flowered branches. The surrounding is incredibly pleasant. Also a statue of a dignified noble man wearing the Rana's uniform and crown is the silent withness of all this chaos.
