Floating Farm
The floating farm footprint has a shape of a rectangle inspired by Asia's traditional grid-shape fish floating farms. These floating farms could help feed hungry people around the world. The idea of planting food in seas, lakes, and rivers can reduce the problems of climate change and land consumption.
Based on a Floating Platform Multi-layered strategy, the entire farming system would be built in three levels- Aquaculture(fish), Hydroponics-Aeroponics (crops) and Photovoltaics(solar power & other renewable energies). The top level of the Smart Floating Farms will integrate the green energy production facilities. The resultant green power generated along with induction of natural sunlight, will be used for the second level layout of the hydroponic farm. The waste byproducts from these crops can be further used for feeding the fishes on the lower level, while the waste from the fish farms can recycled as fertilizers for the hydroponic farm. Therefore, this is a self-sufficient cycle and recycle process. This can make food cheaper, more accessible, and more abundant throughout the world.
